Dear Reader,<\/strong><\/p>\n Education is an ongoing process that aims at drawing out the best in an individual. As man is gifted with vast, varied and unfathamable qualities, the task of an institution for education becomes very crucial. The Indian National Policy on education (1986) says, \u2018In our national\u00a0 perception, education is\u00a0 fundamental to our all round development\u00a0 material\u00a0 and spiritual.\u2019 Our institution, Shri Devi Ahilya Shishu Vihar was established in 1977, with the mission of disseminating education to all but most primarily the under privileged and secluded section of society.<\/p>\n Times are changing at such an accelerated pace that we face increasing challenges coming up for the new generation. When in earlier times it was enough for a scholar to be trained and tutored in one stream-science, humanities, commerce and law, it is now the need for the day to be ready with information-inter-disciplinary. This is a difficult environment but not for the young citizen of today. We have in our circumscription a pride of great potential. To meet\u00a0 this\u00a0 challenge, we\u00a0 aim at\u00a0 providing\u00a0 our students a child-centred education with emphasis in all round development of their minds and skills with a value orientation. This involves developing them as\u00a0 physically fit, mentally enterprising, and spiritually aware of their duties and rights as citizens of a great nation and world. We uphold the thought of Rabindra Nath Tagore who once quoted, \u201cThe highest education is that which does not merely give us information, but makes our life in harmomy with all existence.\u201d Our\u00a0 instituion\u00a0 has\u00a0 a\u00a0 proud\u00a0 privilege\u00a0 of\u00a0 seeing\u00a0 qualitative\u00a0 and\u00a0 quantitative achievements of our pupils in academics, sports and cultural activities. This, we believe is an outcome of thier zeal and efforts but also as directed and nutured by staff members who are energetic and inclined to betterment always. We profess that individuality of a person is product of the individual potential and the personality of the milieu that he is placed in.<\/p>\n The institution thus stands as a reflection of this cumulative force of mankind. We also believe strongly in making our students socially responsible and dutiful citizens. To achieve these objectives of academics, character-building and responsibility, the school endeavours through concerted effort on the part of management, staff, students and seek the support of parents to create a four fold venture aiming at optimum\u00a0 quality of\u00a0 environment for quality education, with an accent on excellence without elitism and a quiet grace.
